This double bass – with it´s beautiful golden varnish- has been mentioned as a Bachmann bass since the 50ties by well-known violinmakers like Vedral and Max Möller.

The bass was in the possession of Fred Nijenhuis, a member of the Concertgebouw Orchestra during the 50ties until the 70ties. His son Fred became a member of that orchestra too. After his death the bass went to his son Wim, who worked in the Frysk Orchestra and later in the North Netherlands Orchestra.

  • Double bass played in the Concertgebouw Orkest
